CHESTERTON -- Army Spec. 4 Larry A. Rippe, 21, of RFD 2, was killed in action in
Vietnam on May 27, his parents were notified Monday.
Rippe, who entered the service in April of 1969 and who went overseas in
September of 1969, was a gunner on a military vehicle.
Prior to entering military service Rippe was employed at the David E. McDaniel
company, Valparaiso.
Surviving are his parents, Karl H. and Mildred (Woodruff) Rippe of Chesterton;
four sisters, Mrs. Donald Weck, Chesterton, JoAnn, Arlene and Christine, all at
home; three brothers, Carl, Ivan and Alan, all at home.
White Funeral home is in charge of arrangements, which are pending. Burial will
be in Chesterton cemetery.

Rites For County GI This Monday
CHESTERTON -- Services for Larry A. Rippe, 21, RFD 2, killed in action in
Vietnam May 27, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the White Funeral home. Burial
will be in Chesterton cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1
p.m. Sunday.
Born March 7, 1949, a son of Karl H. and Mildred (Woodruff) Rippe, he was a
resident of Jackson township his entire life. His parents, four sisters and
three brothers survive.
